The Ultimate Oahu Fishing Experience
North Shore Fishing Charter Captain Jared Dow
The captain of the Flyer has extensive experience with deep sea fishing, and he is excited to share his knowledge with you. Captain Jared Dow is a native of Santa Barbara, California where he had the opportunity to begin fishing the state’s coastal waters from an early age. In 1997, he moved to Hawaii where he discovered the joys of pelagic fishing. He became obsessed with the ability to catch Mahi Mahi, Ono, Marlin and Tuna.
In 1998, he purchased his first charter boat and named, “Coreen C.” This became his second home that allowed him to earn a living for five years through charter trips and commercial fishing. It was at this time that he caught a 1,015-pound blue marlin that turned out to be his biggest fish ever. This prize added fuel to the fire.
Mr. Dow decided to move to Kona, Hawaii where he could work in the cockpit again, learning more. After a few years, he wanted to branch out and find out what he could learn from fisheries around the world. Including Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the Gulf of Mexico, Florida, Bermuda, and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
When a young lady named “Saya” came into his life, she became his fishing partner and his life partner as well. In 2011, Mr. Dow and his wife decided to return to the Islands where they both fell in love with the North Shore. Mr. Dow looks forward to spending the day with you who charter his boat for fishing in the Pacific Ocean as they gaze upon the beautiful Ka’ala Mountain range in the background.
