From fishing licenses to fish disposition, and even dress code, we’ve got you covered. Let’s get you ready for the trip of a lifetime aboard our deep-sea fishing tours!

Licenses & Fish Disposition Policy

Fishing License Requirements

Starting January 2025, a Hawaii fishing license is mandatory for anyone over the age of 15. Exceptions apply for active-duty military personnel and their families or permanent Hawaii residents.

Obtaining a license is simple — just scan the QR code displayed on the boat before heading out. The cost is $20 per person for a day license. For any questions or assistance, our crew is happy to help.

Fish Disposition Policy

Your catch is part of the excitement, and we make sure you get to enjoy it too! Here’s how it works:

  • Half-Day Charter: We’ll fillet and bag up to 20 pounds of whole fish for your group.
  • Full-Day Charter: Take home up to 40 pounds of whole fish after your trip.

Want to take home more? No problem! Any additional fish will be charged at wholesale rates, ranging from $3–$8 per pound, depending on the species and market value.

Since most of our clients stay in hotels and may prefer not to take their entire catch, the fish we sell helps offset our discounted charter prices — a win for everyone!

Boat Rules to Keep the Day Enjoyable

Fishing charter captain discusses rules for the boat including alcohol & smoking policy, dress code, and general acceptable behavior during a fishing trip.

Dress Guidelines

Comfort is key while you’re out fishing. Dress as you like, but here are a few quick tips:

  • The temperature on the water mirrors what you’ll find on land, so consider bringing an extra shirt or a windbreaker for breezy moments.
  • Wear shoes, slippers, or go barefoot—whatever feels best! But please, avoid boots or black-soled shoes as they can scuff up the boat.

General Behavior

Bring a good attitude, relax, and enjoy your adventure! We’re all about creating a fun and memorable atmosphere for everyone onboard.

Alcohol Policy

Feel free to pack a cooler with beer or light beverages to enjoy while you’re out on the water. For safety reasons, we kindly request that you save the stronger beverages for when we’re back at the dock. A relaxed and safe trip is our top priority.

Smoking Policy

Cigarettes are allowed, but we kindly ask you to smoke at the back of the boat and dispose of all cigarette butts in the onboard trash bin. Keeping the ocean clean is a shared responsibility we take seriously.
